Had an incredible time dining at Peasants Paradice yesterday. Dwight is an absolute gem! He really does it all —prep, cooking, and cleaning—and you can taste his passion in every dish. There’s a huge selection of vegan options. We left feeling elated, it was truly an incredible experience. ⭐️

Peasants has been on my hit-list for months and months.
Why I waited I will never know.
Injera Flat Bread - Nom.
Mummas Chicken, coconut and black bean curry - give me the recipe NOW!
Grilled, Yuzu infused cabbage - love (toot)
Senegalese Beef Brisket - comfort food finest.
Strong vino selection, if a touch on the pricey side.
But all in all just really enjoyed this venue, Dwight's story-telling, energy and talent and the food. Such great food.
Don't wait.

Great food and service! Love the concept – Dwight seamlessly wears both the chef and server hats, delivering top-quality food with friendly, personable service. With limited numbers per meal service, this boutique dining experience feels truly special – prior reservation is a must! Can’t wait to return soon and try more of the dishes.

Amazing and unique! Walked in one evening to find out it’s a reservation-only dining place. Thankfully snagged a slot for the next day. The briyani dish was superb in every way. Will definitely come back to try other dishes!!!

We weren't sure what to expect but it was an absolutely amazing experience. The food was obviously inspired by a lot of love, a wholesome upbringing and an appreciation for diversity. It was african, it was indian, it was middle eastern, it was a little bit of everything.
Dwight the legend himself has incredible energy and introduced each carefully considered dish like he was introducing us to his family and history.
We ended up having half the menu between the three of us and will be back for the rest of the menu at a future date. You can trust me when I say the plates were licked clean.
I'll add that while it wasnt overtly vegetarian, the goat curry being an absolute banger, much of the menu was vegetarian friendly. I would kill for his dahl recipe.

Have been hoping to try this place for some time now and did not disappoint! Really tasty blend of modern African and Indian cuisine - was not expecting the garam masala kulfi combo! Was able to cater for my dietary requirement (coeliac and vegetarian). Definitely try the feed me when you go :)

Absolutely phenomenal experience at Peasant Paradise! The diverse South African cuisine was a true revelation. A huge shoutout to Dwight, the one-man army in the kitchen, who was not only an incredible chef but also an exceptional server with a beautiful smile throughout the meal. The way he presented each dish with lovely descriptions added a personal touch that made the experience even more special.
We were a group of 14 members and were accommodated with ease, which was impressive. We were served with an incredible spread and Standout dishes included the Injera Flat Bread with Eggplant Lemon Dip, Doro Wat Dip, Polenta Fries Shakalaka & Mint Yoghurt, Peasants Dhal, and Cabbage Curry Biriyani, Muriwo and Paratha Roti. We also enjoyed Sweet and Sour Cauliflower Derere, Curry Leaves with Fried Shallots, and Okra Curry Char Grilled Yuzu infused Cabbage, Spiced Pickled Cabbage Maharangwe, Suya Spice, and Toasted Coconut Flakes. For meat-eaters, the South African Durban Style Goat Curry Biriyani, Muriwo and Paratha Roti, and Mummas Chicken, Coconut and Blackbean Curry with Biriyani, Muriwo and Paratha Roti were absolute highlights.
Every dish was delicious and unique, showcasing the rich flavours of modern South African cuisine. The variety of options was impressive, with plenty of choices for vegetarians, vegans, and gluten-free diners.
If you're looking for an authentic + modern South African cuisine with exceptional service, Peasant Paradise is a must-visit. Can't wait to come back and try more of their delicious offerings!

Delicious food. We had the “Trust the chef / Feed me” option and every dish was full of flavour and so tasty.
Dishes were a mix of African with Indian influence. Lots of deep and full spices
Dwight (owner/chef) is incredibly friendly and his passion was infectious and inspiring.
Highly recommended and definitely will be back.
